I must say this thing is huge! Some asked can you cook a whole turkey in this thing and I'd say with the extension ring, Yes!
After researching many brands and finding out all the pros and cons I decide to buy this one. I did not want a small one and also didn't like the idea of the teflon coating coming off on my food which many people complained about from other brands. It's a 16 quart glass bowl with racks and an extension ring included.
I recommend you put it in a nice open area as it does tend to throw off a lot of heat. The heat comes out around the top of the bowl as well as the two bottom side vents on either side. The best place I had to put it where I didn't feel I had to worry to much was right on top of my stove. I have low overhanging cabinets. I set it on top of a glass cutting board first to make sure it was level and stable.
This is my first ever air fryer. I love the fact that I can SEE the food cooking inside the unit, and it's made of glass, not some black teflon type stuff, so no worries about chemicals. The dials are simple and analog. There are no beeping sounds, just a ticking timer, the soft fan noise, and a gentle "ding" like an old-fashioned kitchen timer when it's done. The "grabber" it comes with for removing the racks or basket was a little tricky to maneuver at first, but now that I'm used to it, I also use it to remove the round cake pan I sometimes use for cooking more liquidy foods. 2-layer cooking is good if you want to cook a lot at once, and the self-cleaning setting is a cool "extra." It doesn't use overmuch power and I can even use it on the same circuit as my instant pot, at the same time. It's fun to watch the halogen light glow over the food, like some kind of movie theater popcorn machine. I use it to toast bread, bake cinnamon rolls, toast nuts, dry-"boil" eggs, bake potatoes, cook okra...pretty much everything but make soup or chili, or boil water.
Customers say...
Customers find the air fryer produces great results, making chicken and vegetables evenly cooked, with crispy French fries and tender meat. The appliance is easy to use with straightforward controls, and customers find it easy to clean. While the glass bowl is larger than most air fryers, some customers note it's not big enough for family use, and opinions about functionality are mixed - some say it works like a champ while others report it stops working during cooking. The cook time receives mixed feedback, with some finding it fast while others say it takes too long.
